Happy Holidays from the Car Gallery!
Happy Holidays from your friends and the Car Gallery! The picture above was taken at the annual Car Gallery Holiday Party at our store on 4620 N. Western Ave. in Chicago. Being a car dealer, we have an ample supply of balloons, so our kids love coming by the store, especially when there's a party going on! It's been a rough year for a lot of people, and we hope that 2010 will bring you both joy and security. We've certainly had our ups and downs, but we're thankful to still be here despite it all and are ready to serve you with quality cars at low prices in the new year. Stay positive people, we'll get through this. Here's to 2010 and beyond.
Warm Regards,
The Car Gallery Family

The Chic Car Gallery
It's been a while since I last blogged, but all is well in Car Gallery world. We've been busy not only selling real deal cars, but also, sprucing up our office space. This post features the hip new look at our Lincoln Square store on 4620 N. Western Ave. in Chicago. The boys over at 4620 through up some fresh paint, and thankfully, Alan was convinced that lavender walls just didn't suit the place. They also added a nice waiting area for our customers:
Check out the trendy IKEA couch...

...and hip back issue CS magazines.
Have Alan pour you a nice cup of tea while you wait for you paperwork to be prepared. Don't get too comfortable though because the sales process is nothing like a other car dealerships where you endure hours of wrestling with the salesman onto the sales manager onto the finance manager. No, here at the Car Gallery, we keep it simple: work out a good deal with the sales manager and 20 minutes later your driving in your new car.
Let's take a look around the other corners of the showroom:
Always fresh plants at the CG
Of course, we have nice cars to match the lovely showroom!Visit us at the Car Gallery Lincoln Square store to see the new look and check out our fresh inventory of quality used cars at the lowest prices.

Cash for Clunkers: Bummer for Used Cars?

We were really flying high at the Car Gallery this summer with good sales numbers, lots of repeat business, and some strong internet sales; and then everything slowed down. When virtually no one was buying new cars, the "Cash for Clunkers" program gave the new car dealers a much needed boost, but it seems to be having a negative effect on used cars sales. Once the program started, we saw our sales drop. The incentive is great but it's not looking good for used car sales. The government is taking all of these "gas guzzlers" off the road (mostly vans, SUVs, and pickups) and crushing them, so there are less used cars available, which in turn will drive up prices. And, I know, you can argue that this is better for the environment, but a lot of these vehicles are perfectly reliable, especially if they continue to pass emissions testings. Why not tax the gas guzzler instead of destorying it!
You see, while this program is providing great savings for new car buyers, a lot of people still need to go the used car route because it's much more affordable. If you take all those trucks, vans, and SUVs off the road, that decreases the supply, which drives up prices. So now a minimum wage earner looking for an affordable pickup truck is going to have pay more. I hope there are more positive impacts on the used car market, but it's a shame that because the new car business needed a bailout, that we should suffer more to help them out. It's already been slow as it is for the past couple of years, way before the economic downturn, and this only further hinders our sales. But, we'll keep our heads up at the Car Gallery! We have a good reputation and continue to provide quality used cars at the lowest prices. Because of our honest approach and low prices on quality cars, a good number of sales come from repeat and referral buyers. Thank you longtime Car Gallery customers and new members to the family for keeping us alive during these trying times!
And remember, while they are giving you $4500 for your clunker, you are still paying way too much for a new car. Trade and save buying used! We probably won't give you gov't value for your trade, but the price of our car is still way less. Check out our special prices on www.cargallerygroup.com and stop by this weekend with your trade-in, and we'll take care of you!

The Low Miles Car Gallery
Hesitant about buying a used car? With the recent economic downturn, there are a lot of new "used" car buyers in the market. Sure buying new has its benefits including a manufacturer's warranty to back it, but its important to consider the costs. To highlight the savings, we present this 2005 Mitsubishi Galant ES at the Car Gallery for $8995. It has only 47,000 miles on it and it looks and runs great. A brand new 2009 Mitsubishi Galant has a base price or MSRP of approximately $21,000 with options, taxes, and other fees in addition. You can get a car that is only 4 years older and only driven less than 12,000 miles per year at a savings of at least $12,000! Sure you won't have to pay much in maintenance fees in the first 3 or 4 years driving the new Galant, but are you going to spend anything close to $12,000 in maintenance for this 2005 Galant in the next 3 or 4 years? Unless the car needs 4 new engines and 4 new transmissions and all 4 doors replaced in the next few years...well...not likely...no, not even close to $12,000! And after the taxes and other fees plus interest over 5 to 7 years, that $12,000 blows up to much more. So, think about it -- could you use that extra $12,000 + in savings by buying used? -Neil
